Good Old Glass

Vintage Cinema Lenses

We are a company based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands building custom sets of vintage glass for cinema use. We use donor lenses from partners around the European continent with an age of thirty to fifty years.

Professional lens technicians service the lenses, performing high grade Cleaning Lubrication and Adjustment (CLA). All lenses run as smooth as possible. In addition, they have had a correct declick (no creeping aperture) which makes the aperture stepless. The lenses are delivered fully cinemodded.

Cinemodding is the process of adapting lenses which were originally used for photography to the high standards of film making. Aside from the CLA servicing the lenses have undergone brand new cinema grade (reversible) adaptations.

The lenses feature a sturdy EF mount from Leitax, follow focus gears from Simmod (with rubber inner rings and metal outer rings), 80mm OD / 77mm ID step-up rings and custom engraved caps from the same Canadian company Simmod.

The lenses are delivered in a brand new HPRC 2400 case with custom inlay specially manufactured for this Leica-R set.
