Leica-R Glass
SET B – CRON | LATE 1970s – SOLD
Completely hand-picked & customized
These vintage Leica-R lenses (late 1970s) are famous for their soft, yet very sharp look with beautiful bokeh. The lenses have all had a full Cleaning, Lubrication and Adjustment (CLA) so they run as smooth as possible. In addition, they have had a correct declick (no creeping aperture) which makes the aperture stepless.
The lenses feature a sturdy EF mount from Leitax, follow focus gears from Simmod (with rubber inner rings and metal outer rings), 80mm OD / 77mm ID step-up rings and custom engraved caps from the same Canadian company Simmod. The lenses are delivered in a brand new HPRC 2400 case with custom inlay specially manufactured for this Leica-R set.
Cinemodded, serviced and tested
The lenses were technically tested, fully serviced and modified to the highest standards. They were serviced as a full set aimed for use in film making. Special attention was given to light and smooth focusing mechanics that allow pleasant handheld operation as well as usage on focusing motors at the low power setting.
In addition, attention was given to match the focusing and aperture feel across the set. Finally, the lenses were assembled with special techniques and tightened strongly with the aim to minimize the effect of focus click resulting in sudden jumps in the image when reversing focusing direction, an issue with vintage stills lenses used for film making that weren’t properly serviced.
